sheath ?

hey guys,
i have a question about knife sheaths. recently i have bought a couple knives that came with a long leather sheath - and no belt loops - and im wondering how these are meant to be carried. do you guys just put them in a pocket or something?

Do they have little metal buttons on them?
 
I've seen some like that too. I was curious on how you were supposed to carry them as well. Tuck it your belt?
 
Can you take a couple of pics and either post em here or send to me? It sounds like either a pocket sheath or a slip sheath. A slip sheath is basically something to hold the knife, a type of case so to speak. Some knife makers use slips instead of full sheaths when the buyer is most likely going to have a custom sheath made for the knife. It saves the maker some time and the buyer some money to put toward the new sheath.

Hey Guys...

Or,, it could be something like Mike Sastre's Southern Comfort sheath with a stud that is meant to be worn under the belt...

The stud keeps the sheath from sliding down too far.

...uhhh... the camera is not working... sorry guys, but thx for the info - i guess i'll try it behind the belt, see if that is comfortable.
