sheath

I've rubbed mine with some mineral oil. Keeps it from drying out and helps to stop humidity from penetrating the scabbard. (Make sure your blades are dry and room temperature before putting them in the scabbard or condensation will get you!)

However, I wouldn't be surprised if someone exclaimed in horror over this idea. Let's see what other people have done.

People might exclaim in horror over mineral oil because it does soften and discolor leather. However, I have found that with the khukri scabbards which are leather over a wood frame (and are usually black) that neither of these things causes a problem. I have discolored a light brown sheath with it. :grumpy:

A leather conditioner would probably be better, but I use mineral oil on "everything" - handle, blade and scabbard. Its my generic knife lubricant.

I tend to use Kiwi shoe polish. Sometimes I will add a little saddle soap to the shoe polish for a little deeper penetration. Works well for me so far.:D

Will mink oil work as well? I don't think I've owned a leather over wood sheath before.

Does anyone here use that white rouge for their khukris? Effective?
