I got a few Kydex Sheaths from a seller here on the forums for 2 of my Izulas and it seems like the 2 that i keep in the sheaths get dull very quickly, it makes me a little scared to order some more for my other knives. could this be true or just my imagination ?
Is there a fix ?
these kydex sheaths are different from my HEST one as this one is riveted without an adjustment for retention.

i can post Pics of the said sheath but i'd rather not mention any user names and break forum rules.

Kydex can defitinitely dull your knives especially when taking them out or putting them in. I would make sure you are riding the spine when taking the knife out or putting it in the sheath. If you are already doing that and the knife gets dull because of edge contact while riding in the sheath than the sheath itself is the problem. Good luck either way man.

Yeah, it could definitely be a sheath that is too tight along the blade edge. You could try to fix it manually with a heat gun by slowly heating it up with the knife in the sheath and then gently roll the knife up along it's spine to raise the edge a bit. This might give you some extra room for it to breathe.

Would marking it with a lighter/sharpie then putting it in then pulling out lots let me know ? Or is there a common way to figure it out ?

Marking the edge with a sharpie will let you know. If you see the marker being removed, follow the suggestion about heating the kydex and rocking the knife in the sheath to get extra clearance. If no real wear is noted, look at the position of the rivets. The blade edge could be rubbing on the rivet during insertion and extraction.

If you have a heat gun, maybe you could put a few layers of duct tape on the edge and reform the sheath, pinching it tighter around the middle and spine of the blade.
