I hate sheaths. They cost me an arm and a damn leg whether I'm making them or buying them.

And kydex is the worst cornhole of a half a wasted damn day there ever was. To hell with kydex, and to hell with sheaths.

Rant over. Now back to working knives.

Would me giving up the sheath for my KPH and just askin' Tal to make it, lighten up your day? :D
And yeah, kydex does suck.

Well, I wasn't planning on making sheaths for that run anyway, so no. I do have to get on the stick and get JRE a few of these new designs...

Uhoh. Andy was doing some kydex for my karda and bow legged joe Friday. If that BLJ kydex is a problem, don't worry about it! I'd rather u were grinding! :)

Actually, now that you mention it, Andy...your concept of "sucking sheaths" would be wonderful! Blade retention would be 100% ! The vacuum would hold the blade and bolster in no matter what contortions your bushcraft put you through.

And, depending on the model's accessories, you could use it to clean out the tent floor!

You're a genius, Man !!!

When will you start working on production models? :) :) :)

I know the feeling but when one turns out right it really makes the knife. I love leather and kydex when they're done correctly. Kydex can really tick me off when things go wrong though. Someone should start a thread with pictures entitled "Kydex gone wrong".

I wish ole Tal was full time, and lived across the street. Then the world would be good.

Andy,

Sell enough that you make your millions, and I will QUIT my job and become your full time sheath bitch. We will kick back, drink a few, and make our stuff! ;)

Yeah, I read ya there.

Western style sheaths in particular I find a PITA but I do enjoy scandi's...they are easier* somehow.

*easier being if you screw up your measurements and shrinkage allowance then you don't have to worry about the knife anymore cos the sheath has dried solid around the knife!

Sorry to read this Bro! I hope it gets better however you decide to work it out.
