Sheaths, which kind to use

Hey, I have several knives all with leather sheaths. Is this ok or should I get all thermoplastic type sheaths? I am always in the rain or around water or in the snow. Should I be using something else or is leather still the best?
 
This is kind of like asking "should I paint my car red or blue? It depends on what you like, and what you intend to do.

There is a thread around here somewhere about Kydex and cold that you should take a look at.

Otherwise I think you are going to have to try one and see if you like it. I have knives with leather and knives with Kydex. They are both good, but different.
