Sheaths with a belt peg

I have searched all over he!! and back and can not seem to find an answer. Just how does one wear a sheath with a belt peg on a belt? I'm sure it is done with some sort of frog or straps, but it does not help the search when some folks call a belt peg a frog. I have a CS Natchez Bowie (not sk5) and I am looking for options on how to fix the sheath to a belt.

Yes the button or stud is far too often mistakenly called a frog which is the leather belt loop that attaches to the sheath with the help of the stud
a couple of examples of mine without the frog attached and with - both frogs are based on originals

There are several styles of frogs - an Internet image search will bring up other options - they are basically a simple short leather tube with an attached belt loop that slips on over the sheath

here's a simple original style on a Bowie sheath - the loop is left just large enough to let it slip over the stud and then fit the stud into the slot/hole

Thanks for the response.

It never ceases to amaze me: how prevalent belt peg sheaths are, how hard it is to find a frog that fits, and that Distributors have no or little information on where to get a frog that fits. I bet that it would cost about the same to get a sheath that attaches to a belt directly as it would to get a frog that fits.

Any ideas where I can get one for my Natchez Bowie? Several Google searches have not yielded anything yet.

I'd say that trying to find a ready made frog for your sheath is going to be a great exercise in futility. By its very nature most frogs are custom fitted and built at the same time as the sheath. You may find one from another sheath that could come close, but exact fit would required exceptional luck indeed.

If you are talking a factory sheath for a production knife, then yes the frog attachment could easily cost as much or more than the original sheath. On the other hand there are countless factory sheath set up with a belt loop in almost any size you could imagine, and the cost on one of those would be a fraction of a good custom job.

Frogs are not necessarily needed with stud style sheaths. Very easy to put the sheath behind your belt, and the stud will keep it from dropping below belt level. A very versatile way of carrying a large knife. Also works well IWB concealed.

I hope I'm doing this correct. I have a picture of a sheath I want to make that has a frog assembly and I don't know how to build it. Every picture I have looked at never show the back side of the frog and how it's put together? Is it all stitched together, is it snaps or rivets? Please someone, educate me. I would like to attach the picture for y'all to see but I'm not sure that's doable!? Any help you can share will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
