One of the many reasons I love my Beckers is the ambi sheath that they come with. Being a lefty it's rare to get a proper sheath with a factory knife. That said, I am a little disappointed with the newest ones I have for my 5 and 15.
The keeper strap on the earlier one had a rivet holding it to the sheath. I could simply turn it around for safe, secure carry. The new ones are sewn on. This leaves the strap vulnerable to everything I walk past. I seem to snap it open several times a day and have nearly lost my 15 a few times.
Anyone else have this problem? Short of ripping the seams and resewing it, is there a fix?

unfortunately, no.
there's ripping/reversing the straps, putting up with the snap going in the wrong direction, pocket carry instead of belt, and custom.

You can put a ranger band through the belt loop then over the handle, or do the same thing with the velcro straps they sell at any home improvement stores.

That's one of the forgotten benefits of a belt loop that opens, it offers an instant way to secure your knife without permanent modification.

Ughhhh. I had really loved these sheaths with the rivet. Harumph. Maybe I will rip the seams, I have a seriously cool seam ripper that SWMBO might let me use and put my own rivets in.

I think that's a good idea - and a great excuse to get the rivet kit, if you don't already have one. Pretty cheap. As an alternative, you could use the seam ripper to remove it - or maybe just a sharp knife ;) - and reattach it with a chicago screw or a bookbinders screw. No rivet kit to buy, and the bookbinders screws are available at home despot.

Or just grab a $10 short Ka-Bar leather sheath for your tweeners. It's still riveted.

They're riveted...but are they available for left hand carry? (That is the root of the issue at hand, after all)

Dangit...that's what I get for browsing half asleep.

I bought a couple of real nice bk2 leather sheaths that I didn't realize were lefties....one I can wear on my back ok but the others a dangler. Can't say I feel ur pain but I can imagine your frustration. Both of my kids are lefties, my wife and I aren't. Not sure how that worked out...
