Looking for ideas on options for a Buck 117 sheath. I don’t care for the factory job. Don’t like the big flap on top. I do like a small, EDC friendly sheath. Something minimal as I am a smaller framed guy. Also the option to carry vertical or diagonal would be nice, but not entirely necessary. The less obstructive, bulky, and/or cumbersome, the better. Any ideas on styles or makers?

Check the Sheaths & Such forum here -- you'll find lots of superb craftsmen who can make what you want. Or you could whip one up yourself; I usually end up doing that, although generally it takes me two or three tries to get it right☹️.

For my Buck fixed blades, I've bought several sheaths from ebay+etsy. They are great. And not crazy expensive and ready to ship, usually.

Depending on which sheath you get, might want to re-use the nylon insert of your stock sheath (for a taco-style sheath, not necessary for pancake types, in my experience.

Roland.
