Is if it s possible to have a sheath made for a blade that has already been made and received? I am more interested in having a western style sheath made but for the sake of the post I would also be curious if any other sheath would be possible as well. My guess would be that while the blades seem to follow a tight pattern, a western style is likely doable but the others would not lend themselves to being able to make a sure fit given how they're made and checked.

Also, if you order a karda and chakmak, does that change the sheath(s) to hold them? I can't seem to find any photos or reference to this specifically.

Western leather sheaths we can make without the blade present. We can also make traditional daps but at a much lower success rate. Whenever customers enquire about them we let them know that it's about a 50% coin flip on whether it'll be a good fit or not.
Kydex isn't really possible at all. We can wait until we have the same blade shape/length/grind type through the workshop and make two sheaths for it but there's still a bit of variation there in shaping and an average fit is all that can really be hoped for.
Yep- karda and chakmaks are integrated into the sheaths. They're put into a new section behind the throat of traditional daps. Kydex sheaths get a carry plate that has a front and back. It bolts down to the tip of the sheath. Currently this is not ambidextrous so a second plate is needed for the other side. In future we may alter the eyelet spacing at the tip of these K&C sheaths so it can be ambidextrous.
Western leather sheath gets a single layer of leather that is formed into 2 snug pockets int he same tip portion.
We don't really have any photos but in future will be making these all standard options- we're just waiting on some modern alternatives so we can put them all up at the same time.
Take care,
Andrew and the team at Kailash

That's a relief to hear! I definitely want to have a traditional dap for each blade but I know I'll want to go back and get a Western style eventually.
