How many of you attach your sheaths at the bottom. Many knives like Becker, Busse, KA-Bar all have sheaths that are designed to be held from the belt and attached around the thigh at the bottom of the sheath. I have never thought this was comfortable of usefull. Does anyone think differently? Thanks.

Hello Darknife,

I've found that a sheath with a long belt loop, one that runs up along the knife's handle, allowing the knife to be worn low ( below the waist ), will cause the knife to "Flop Around" as you move. With this method of carry, a leg tie-down is a big help in keeping the knife at your side.

When I build my sheaths, I make the 2" belt loop run down the back of the sheath. When worn, this method brings the knife up on the belt, so the blade is below your waist and the handle is above your waist, and the knife doesn't flop around.

I prefer the dropped leg sheath myself cos I've got a love handles, :grumpy:

Otherwise the handle will just jab into my sides :p
