For everyday fixed blade carry what works best. I'm thinking leather and wood. Not that it is best for use but probably best as far as getting the stink eye. I'm in the dfw area, 30 miles from 7 million people. Not terribly unusual seeing a 20 something (male or female) (God I love cowgirls) carry a fixed blade in my town but slightly east of here its just not done. What say you?

It's F'ing TEXAS! Contact fellow Texan, Paul Long, sheathmaker sheathmaker , get something with some western diamondback skin and start walkin' that b*tch around!

I was born and raised in the DFW area. I wear what I want any way that I want. Nobody around here seems to care. I prefer hardwoods but I love Micarta also. I made a leather SOB sheath for my CPK UF and I'm working on a strong side vertical sheath for my DEK1 now. I love leather and Kydex sheaths.

Best way is tucked down the back of your pants imo. Plain micarta is equivalent to wood in terms of looking sportsman-ey. My brother in law works in aerospace and calls it phenolic wood.
Not sure which CPK you're considering, but the 'streaky' AECM (Antique Edge Cut Micarta) scales do look like wood while having all the properties/advantages of micarta.
