Hi

Next fall, I will be in training part of my college program in engineering.

Normally, I don't really care about sheeples, but when my future depends on it, I tend to me more careful.

So, what sheeple friendly EDC would you suggest considering I already have a SAK classic on my keyring? Try keeping it under 100$

Thanks
Marco

Easy. Benchmade Mini-griptilian. If you want to be SF avoid black blades, serrations, and blades over 3 in.

Any of the traditional pocket knives from Case, Queen. Any of the larger size Victorinox knives like the tinker or spartan.

How 'bout an AG Russell Woodswalker? I'm considering it.

If a fixed blade is out, Spyderco Kiwi.

you can't find more "sheeple friendly" than the usual red SAK.
otherwise, the "old style" american folder like Case.

worst being all the black coated serrated blades.:D

Funny. I didn't even consider a knife that requires both hands to open!

Also consider the Benchmade Benchmite II...

What about CS Vaquero Grande?
Seriously, SAKs are your best bet, or old-style slipjoints. Otherwise, the more decorative look, the more SF knife.

Fixed blade - Mikro Canadian from Bark River

Folder - SAK, Mnandi, Spyderco Kopa

Absolutely. I carry a Spyderco Chinook, Yojimbo, or Ronin often. The knife I use in front of people is my Victorinox Waiter, maybe my Spyderco Cricket.

I err on the side of caution because there are people who'll dump in their pants if you use anything(minigrips included) other than a small traditional slippie or a SAK, and still they might.

I would get a SAK, or Spyderco Native, Dragonfly..... Any of the small Spydies will treat you right.

Get an SAK, probably a Spartan or Tinker, with red scales. That's the quintiesential knife that will (of any) be likely to be seen as a tool not weapon.

Ditto on a nice slipjoint too.

I recommend either the 84mm SAKs, Alox SAKS (especially the red alox) or a Spyderco Dragonfly (SS version has ATS 55 steel and is a strong little knife).

I carry a small Sebenza and a Victorinox Executive daily. I work in a university environment...guess which one does 99% of the work.

Best of luck on your training!
:)

Boker Subcom. Shortblade but wide and cuts big. Has a great handle.

If you are really needing to keep a low profile, there is a new full size Leatherman without a blade. Has scissors for cutting, screwdrivers, file, real pliers. Probably great for an engeneering student...

Yep, everything that my actual EDC, a Heat, is not.

I'm not really into slipjoints. Maybe a locking SAK. I already planned to get a one hand trekker.
