Sheep's foot (approximately) folder with edge below handles - recommend.

Venturing into something similar to but not strictly necessarily a sheep's foot profile but I want the blade to be lower than the bottom of the handle when open to some degree not unlike a chef's knife but obviously not that much lower.

The logic here is in fact a chef style folder that lacks a very stabby point.

Not looking for a cleaver style knife as don't like the bulky look.

I am not so worried about the shape at the tip end so much hence can be any one of the infinity variations of that family of blade profiles.

Thanks any suggestions.

Kizer Sheepdog series? They say it is a sheeps foot blade but you are heading into cleaver style imo.

Kershaw Needs Work? Discontinued but the handle angle is a little different putting the edge below the handle. I think I have one still.

Gerber 4040516e

Made in God only knows where - probably some third world village next to an ocean reef where lots of freighters crashed and got cut up by the locals and made into knives.
I think my wife picked a couple of them up when Menards had one of their "free after rebate" sales.
They weren't really too bad - except for a design mistake. They were an assisted opener with a thumb stud, but, they closed so tight you couldn't open them with one hand.

Again +1 for SpydieChef

You might also look at their Kapara and Swayback (although the latter is more intended for cutting toward your body (paring fruit, etc)).

Good luck in your search!
