Sheepsfoot grip and mini-grip blade thickness differences

I'm curious in the differences in blade thickness on these and the resulting cutting prowess. I've EDC'ed a sheep mini for 2 years and I have a hinkering for a custom shop in M4 of either the mini or the full-size and I'm wondering how much difference the edge thickness is. I have had a full-size drop point grip and didn't care for it too much but the difference of the hollow grind could change that significantly.

Use would be EDC which entails opening packages, attacking cardboard, and looking at when I'm bored in the office.

I also have a 940 though I may give that up if I go full-grip as I get the 3.5" blade and a slicier blade in a single knife whereas I'm split between the 940 and mini-grip for fave BM knife for EDC.

Side note: wouldn't mind hearing about people's experiences with BM's custom knife shop as this would be a first through that service.

Sorry, opposite, drop mini and sheep 550, like them both, the big sheep on the 550 feels a bit stronger though.
May be the size, I'm not a steel expert!

Do you feel the big sheep slices better than the drop mini assuming both are freshly sharpened? Similar? I know the difference of the big drop and small sheep is quite noticeable, especially when slicing cardboard.

Again, not a blade expert but I think the drop point mini grip is better at slicing than my 550. Neither have been hard used but the mini seems sharper? Its 154cm the big one is s30v.....

...and at a party, the 550 didnt seem sharp cutting lemons, another party the 556 did not need any coaxing or sawing, sliced nicely. I'll let you know of any cutting stuff, but i dont carry them often in the big city.

Thanks for the input Tony. Sounds like that's one for thin blade stock of the mini being slicier than either blade geo on the bigger.

something you may want to consider, and someone else can chime in if i’m wrong, but i’m fairly certain that the only sheepsfoot grip that is hollow ground is the 154cm version. the other steel choices from the custom shop are sabre ground from everything i’ve heard & seen

Oh, Im not a steel guy! But I read the numbers from my 550 and 556 when asked above.
I still refer to charts for all the different styles, etc. :)

I just checked my custom shop sheepfoot Grip with 20CV. It is a saber ground.

Huh, well that makes this interesting then. I guess it wouldn't really matter for the slicing then as it would be more of a blade shape difference than the edge thickness. This makes me think I may have to keep my 154cm version and then get the custom shop version on top of it.

Thank you both for letting me know there was a difference, I would have never thought they changed the blade grind up for the different steel choices.
