Well bought this bowie off ebay, less than the websites price too. Thought I would give it a try as it is 1095 steel, flat grind, coffin handle/horn handle with a nice looking top clip. Classic looking. Nice solid brass hardware etc. Here is a link to the manufacture'rs site http://www.sheffieldknives.co.uk/shop/index.htm May not ever use it and it didn't break the bank and with a money back satisfaction guarentee well what the hell right? I will let you guys know when I get it. keepem sharp

That is one sweet looking knife  - you are talking about the Bowie with the Spanish notch right? You must give us a report once you get it - where does it balance, how thick is the blade / how does it cut etc... As a huge fan of the moderately priced Bowie, I for one look forward to it.

There are some other pretty cool knives on that site too BTW. I like their scalping knife (carbon steel) and the Mariner's Kit has a nice little guardless bowie too (stainless though).

The only comments I have seen about Sheffield Knives were regarding the Israeli Commando knife and the Fairbairn Sykes dagger. Both have been condemned as made from poor quality steel, and they come with very dull edges. It will be interesting to learn if other Sheffield knives are any better.

Not all knives from Sheffield are from the same company. The fixed blades tend to be better than the folders from the various companies from what I have heard from people. There has been discussion on another forum I frequent about the quality of folders from the various Sheffield makers, not as good as those seen from the US.

Those bowies do look nice on that site as well as some of the other knives :)
