Well, my wife got this for me some time back as an Xmas gift. I've used the hatchet portion and hammer quite a bit, but not much else on the tool. At first, I though the thing was gaudy and cheap, but after using it some I realized its quite well built, and purposeful. It's actually a nice addition to my toolbox. Does anyone else out there have this sort of thing?

I do! Mine was also a gift back in 2009. Have put it through its paces, mainly the axe head and the pliers/jaws.

It's held up quite well considering the price. My main complaint is that the handle tools do not lock in place, which has been problematic while trying to screw phillips or pry things open, etc.

Its tools are not spring loaded and stiff like the Victorinox's, but they can work in a pinch.

After these years the jaws have been forced and bent and now they do not align perfectly, yet they still exert high pressure and grab things with a lot of strength.

The axe head is made of soft steel, easy to sharpen and tough enough for yard work and 1/2 saplings, vines etc.
It also chops frozen food quite well, in my experience.

Hope you enjoy yours!

LOL, The Peacent, that's awesome!! When I opened up on Xmas I didn't quite know what to say other than thanks. I had no intention at that time to every use, but, you know, I was wrong then. Occasion came up to need it, and it surprised me. I guess maybe it was the size at first, but after using it, I came to realize it needs to be big and heavy for the hammer and hatchet portion to actually work. This thing hasn't replaced my SAK but it does step in place of the leatherman in occasion.

I had been keeping the plastic slip cover on the hatchet portion (oh, No, it does not fold in to the handle) but I lost it someplace.

Anyway, the hatchet is a pretty good little addition IMO, I don't really hack/strike with it, using it more as an Ulu style push cutter.
