I've recently started using my SOG Agency, its a great knife but I noticed my sheath is comming apart after being worn twice. Who do I need to contact?

Jeesus! Nothing but bad news on the Sog front lately. What's up with this?

Dude, I guess you call customer service, or contact Chris on this forum, he seems to be very helpful.

I just got a agency and my sheath is not up to par either. It came with a leg lanyard but the sheath has a hole only on one side of the sheath.

The supplied lanyard is for the knife, the hole you're referring to is the drain hole.

I called SOGs Customer Service Dept and spoke to a very nice Lady, She told me to send the sheath in, with a note, and they would send me a new one. She also said sheaths are'nt covered under the warranty but they should'nt start comming apart after minimal use either.

After some thought, I decided to simply keep my original sheath and re-inforce it and repair it myself. For my use, a good sheath should have three brass rivets toward the bottom. This is the same area that started comming apart. After about 7 minutes of tinkering, I have a Great Knife with a tough sheath :D

That looks great. Perhaps Chris will pass this fix along and the powers that be may implement it.
Great job.

I dislike the leather sheath of my Super Bowie and it also is falling apart rapidly. I wish to replace with a plastic one when its time. Glad to hear I am not the only one disappointed in the quality of that material. The blade is very handsome though.

I actually like the leather sheath, they could have done a better job on the stitching and added the extra rivets but the leather quality, fit and appearance are good. I added two more rivets, one on each side of the sharpening stone pocket, its about as good as I could hope for now.

Good looking fix, I think I am going to do my own as well.

I've carried my SOG Agency on numerous excursions since repairing my sheath, I could'nt be more pleased. 20 minutes and .75 cents worth of brass rivets made all the difference in the World.

My sheath came apart very quickly as well, also the retention snap seemed to be brazed shut??? Carly @ SOG took care of me. Their customer service has always been great for me in the last several years I have dealt with them.

I've had a couple requests for more details on re-inforcing the sheath. Its an easy process, I simply figured out the best placement of the rivets and marked the spots. I then drilled holes the same size as the rivet bodies and inserted the male end of the rivet, then place the female side and hammer it down using the supplied tool. Do one at a time and move to the next one.

Thanks for the help, I can't believe what a difference a few rivets made! I thought use would destroy the sheath for my 2.0, but it actually toughened it up and its ready to do work now! Thanks again!

This all seems very odd to me. I think about 5 to 10 years ago, when the switch to kydex was made, the leather sheaths from SOG were the higher quality sheaths that were available. Now we have mention of replacing supplied leather sheaths with plastic ones! Weird!
