Shelf life?

What is the shelf life of iodine water purification tablets? I have a sealed bottle of them marked mfg. 6/73. Reckon they're any good?:D

The label on my bottle of Potable Aqua indicates 5 years unopened, one year opened. I certainly would not trust a product manufactured in 1973, particularly when 50 tablets of Potable Aqua costs $5.00.

Neanderthal,
I didn't plan on using them. The lack of an expiration date on the bottle left me wondering is all. BTW do you know of any source for individually packaged iodine tablets?
Thanx,

Sorry, I know of no source for individually packaged iodine tablets. Blueline Outfitters, temporarily out of business, supplied my tiny glass bottles with teflon seals in the lids. They hold 20 Potable Aqua tablets. The Teflon seals are critical to prevent degradation of the cap from the iodine. These bottles fit very well in an Altoids tin and should be available somewhere.
