Hi Y'all. I'm looking for a lightweight shell jacket. It will be used for Fishing, kayaking, going to football games, or just when it's rainy out or a little chilly and I don't feel like wearing a jacket or a hoodie. I'd like the price range to be under $80. Any suggestions, comments, or stories appreciated. Thank you. Stay safe and God Bless.

Check out the Marmot Precip, one of the better values in lightweight shells that doesn't sacrifice features such as pit-zips and adjustable hood.

I am also interested in the Marmot Precip.

How rain proof is the Marmot Precip?
The reviews seem varied

Meh. It's good enough.

The Precip is unlined 2 layer fabric so there's nothing to disperse interior condensation. I feel wet in mine n

But it keeps cold water from runnin down my back. It's so dang light that it has displaced a top end heavier Patagonia GoreTex, which was prior the best I've ever used. I now carry a wind breaker and the Precip in pack as back up.

Eddie Bauer First Ascent Bc200. $200, very breathable, 11oz. Check Backpacker Mag....they had a review on shels under 200 $ and a few decent options were cheaper yet..
