Does anyone have a 110 (or some Buck knife...maybe one of the contract knives) with the Shell Oil logo on it??? I understand they gave their employees a knife with their logo on it back in the 80's or 90's...It would have been one of the Texas (Houston?) corporate centers...

Trax, there are so many entities within Shell that this would have been one of the small divisions. It wasn't company wide for sure, because I sure didn't get one. And I was there during those times. I think Shell's workforce hit something like 23,000 people during some of those time frames.

We did get some small knife scissor fingernail file sets with a Shell logo as a safe staff hour thing one time, but again was only within our group. But never anything as nice as a 110.

One of those would be a good find, as the the individual organizations rarely exceeded 100 people. Depending on their piece of the pie.

Packy -

I found a couple by Googling; a Case, a Bristol, but all small watch-pocket thingies...Nothing as big as a 110/112/505... :(

I have a friend who worked for Shell back then and collects Shell memorabilia...and also Buck knives...

There actually seems to be a Shell collectors club/society/group...and from the looks of eBay, Shell sure badged a poopload of stuff for its employees...and for its customers, so to speak... :p

Well, I'll add that to my eBay Search list... ;)

Yeah, we were always getting something or other for safety things and what ever motivational thing some manager thinks up. I never got into collecting any of it other than what I was given. But some of it was good stuff.

I am back at the hunting place and in the back of the truck is a Shell box that has a storage compartment and is a step stool. Has all my bungies and tow straps in it. Back in the bedroom is a duffel with some Shell logo on it full of clothes.

And I noticed the daughter wearing one of my anniversary award things that came on a watch band, that I had taken off and made into a charm. She likes that little diamond it has on it.

Maybe I should browse the Shell items. I may be sitting on a small fortune. 25 or 30 bucks worth.:D I put in 32 years before they ran me off. Was good times till they went with the downsizing thing...

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone...

I know about the 32 years thing.

I put in 35 where I worked and the last 10 were nothing but arguing about budgets and trying to work miracles.....and then the last five got real, real ugly.

The working world is going to hell in a handbasket, that's for sure.

I guess, though.......that here we are, alive and able to buy a new knife now and then, so there's a lot to be thankful for anyway.

...Don't think I ever had a 110 with any sponsorship embellishments. I think I have a 500 Duke with something on it somewhere...:)

seems i seen a 110 with Shell or Texaco on the handle
on the bay a while back..
yes i am sure i seen one..

Trax no I do not have anything with any Shell logo on it. I do have some other logos on Buck knives, but no Shell logos. HL

Thanks for the replies! I wondered if their had ever been one, or if anyone had seen one, with Shell logo...Even another Buck model...

I'll keep a lookout for one...If they ever existed... ;)

i was working for Brown and Root at a nuke plant when they gave all us
with either 5 or 6 thousand MH with no lost time
a 110 with Brown and Root etched on the blade..
