Have any of the knifemakers here attended or plan to attend this years Shenandoah Valley Knife Show in Harrisonburg, VA. I am thinking of attending this years show and was wanting an idea of what to expect. This will be the first knife show I will attend. Any feedback or recommendations are appreciated.

I have three or four tables every year. It's the end cap by the food trailer.
I'll be there with some special items this year. I'll have a large batch of exhibition grade buckeye Burl. It looks like black marble.
Look for the guy with the Stetson. I'm pretty easy to spot.

Harrisonburg is a great show. Laid back, not too much of the Goths and strange kids. It is a show for knife folks and makers. Pop's ( James Poplin) is always there.

Thanks for the response Stacey

I wanted to attend last year and had to go out of town on business. I will be sure to drop by your tables. I haven't been able to find much information other than on the club website.

I'm curious about this show also. Might be able to make this one. Would love drooling over some knives. Is there usually several folks selling supplies?

Pop's for supplies, Jim's and others ( including me) for wood, and tables with mammoth, walrus, stag, etc.

Yeah, Butch, I am still deciding whether to offer mammoth ivory for sale or not. The supply has dried up so bad that it has become rather expensive to replace , and I use quite a bit of it. No more of those 100 pound, $2000 tusks anymore. I'll bring a box for some of the regular guys ( like you) to pick through, but may not put it on the table for regular sale. I know we still have a trade deal to work on,too.
See you there.

For those who don't know, Butch wins the "Best Folder" award almost every year. I have some competition for him this year.
