Sher the Tiger

i think he moved on before then, but some sneaky googling and/or just poking around would find out.

it's a relatively "new" design, mostly made by sgt khadka (no markings for the most part)

Thank you very much for the reply! I was just asking to make sure i didn't miss anything as I didn't find anything via a forum/google search and a ton of reading. I only ask this as I recently bought an HI kuk from a forum member. He initially thought it was a Bonecutter, but when it arrived, I verified it was indeed marked by Sher the Tiger and does not have the UB initials on it anywhere. the seller offered to return my cash, but by that time the blade and I had bonded :) I will post some pix tomorrow to see if anyone can nail down the exact model it is. The seller measured it at 17.5 OAL but I don't have a weight for it.

Thank you again for taking time to reply :)

Sher may have made a couple, but the khukuri you have is most likely a Ganga Ram Special. It is easy for people to mix the two, as the styles somewhat blended for awhile.
For the most part, Sgt. Khadka made the Bonecutter almost exclusively, with Murali Kami was making a few for awhile.

if it is pre UB, it's most likely a GRS of some flavor.

older GRS models, esp the LARGE ones, look a lot like the bonecutter template, but there are some differences.

probably very nice work. yes. do post some pictures.

no bonecutters there... but that middle GRS sure does look close :)

At the top of this photo is a "GRS/Bonecutter" made by Sher. A regular "Bonecutter" is right below it.

ah, sher the tiger is not "old sher", my bad.

mmm. habaki bolsters, lots of cho creep. limited to no bell pommel. brass? bleah :) not my design intent.

still, pre-UB probably means old sher? probably GRS. can't wait for pictures.
