Hi Guys can anyone tell me, ive seen on some 2OT's where some have shields and some dont , is there any noted change or difference in these two, or reason.
Paul

G'Day Paul, May I ask if this question comes from the fact you may just have bought one with a blank shield on Ebay???Someone in Australia just bought one on Ebay and you have been asking lots of questions...all welcome of course...when I saw it sell to someone in Oz I thought it may be you.
The Craftsman 2OT was the one with the shield and if you go back to the previous 2OT thread I posted photos of all three models. The one on Ebay whilst the photos were not clear appeared to have been buffed on shield and blade to the extent that Craftsman could no longer be read. The Old Timers from the same period 1959 had no shield. Having said all that if that is a Craftsman 2OT with only 780 ever produced all in 1959, it was an excellent buy for someone as Codger has one and I have one so not many others still out there after 50 years of use. Have any other forum members got a Craftsman 2OT they care to show? Hoo Roo

Yea thats me , im hopeing that its also a bad picture and there is alittle bit of craftsman left on it , while i got ya can you give me any info on the craftsman in this frame ,all i know it was made by schrade , if the 2OT was the ground floor of the OT what is the relation between making OT's for seares, so they ran craftsman alongside schrade 2OT but in less numbers?

Great buy Paul and well done,I'm happy for you mate.I dont know what it is but I have maybe 1400 Schrades and not one other does it for me like holding a 2OT.I said that quietly as I dont want the other knives or my wife for that matter... to hear!
There is heaps of Sears history on this site which totally answers all your questions and more however I realize you cannot now access it without being Gold member. I am also aware if you have tried to become a Gold member that they will not accept Paypal here from International members which makes it difficult to pay them without messing with International Money Orders etc...sooooo if you ask real nicely of Ron alias Mountainwind an active member here he may do for you what he so kindly did for me,I remitted my payment by Paypal to him and he then paid Blade Forums and we became Gold members at the same time. I really recommend becoming a member because its Ali Babas cave of Schrade info quite unbelievable particularly with Codger's contributions alone being worth the membership fee IMHO. Hoo Roo

thanks Larry yea i was in the proccess of upgrading so i will do that. i asked admin the go as i realised international cant be basic members.

Um so many knives where do you put them all your missus must be sick of cleaning around them all , that qualifies as starting a museum. or a room addition. i wish i started earlier so i could buy some of the knives as they were produced and displayed for sale.it would have been interesting watching and waiting as new realeases came up by schrade. how long have you been collecting?.
