Greetings,

So I received my two Shikari/Sikari, hunting knives a few days ago (thank you Yangdu!). And I'm very glad I have the opportunity to own them.

First thing I noticed was a slight similarity (handle, grip, thickness) with my Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter.

There was also a couple of earlier references to it as a boxcutter, a Seax, and the Cold Steels AK knife bayonet clone...

Maybe there's a little bit of all of them (and Benchmade's) in HI's knife, but HI certainly can stand on its own merits.

While not very sharp, it's sharp enough. Most of all, I was particularly charmed by how well balanced they are (to me), and particularly in comparison to the Benchmade.

At 11 ounces they are robust, but still very handy.

If you are in the market for something unique, as all HI pieces are, and practical, please give them a chance. As a medium size camp/hunting knife, I don't think they'll disappoint.

xx

P.S. My pics don't stand too well the test of time. I hope u can enjoy them as soon as u can. Sometimes the host server won't load them after a few weeks. My apologies.

Those are really cool looking. Thanks for sharing the pics and your thoughts. This kind of stuff piques my interest in things I otherwise might not look at too closely.

Should be a few more of those coming up in a few weeks. Yangdu sent me a few to work on the handles a bit. Just finished one tonight
Dealing with health issues on my mom so I'm kind of sidetracked but I'll get them done soon.

My original intention was to stick to kukris, das it. Nothing more, nothing less. But, here I am! LOL

RE: the knife. I'm not much of a fighter. In fact, my best defense right now are my own two feet! But, this knife in particular feels so massive (yet well balanced), that I'm pretty sure some more physically active in hand to hand combat could probably see an opportunity here. The butt end of the knife specifically is quite solid for blows to the head, or face, and pressure pain points.

Great post, thank you for sharing
