I don't think that the Tekota reel was really designed for throwing lures for the long periods of time like you do in muskie fishing. Not that it won't do it, and probably excel at it, but there are probably better reels for it. Are you planning on using mono or braid? If you're going to use braid, the smaller Shimano baitcasters in the 300 size is popular, as are the Abu Revo series. If you're going to use mono, then you'll need a bigger reel. The Calcutta reels are excellent. The Abu C series reels are ok, but I find that the 6000-6500 reels are just a tad too small to run any decent weight mono on. If you go much over 20lb test, you really give up line capacity. If you are going to run mono, I'd step up to one of the 7000 series Abu reels.
