shiny and no so shiny...

My new plain large classic is very high polish on the stud side of the blade and very matte on the other. Is this a new thing? Is this normal?

first is shiny stonewash, second matte stonewash. I've never seen it before.

both sides look stone wash(ed) to me...is it my monitor?

The stud side appears much more shinier/polished to me.

I thought they drop the blade in a tumbler, so how could one side be different than another? Weird...

Its much more apparent in person, but if you look closely between the two you'll see the difference. It doesn't bother me, I just want to figure out how it happened. They're definitely both stonewash, but the stud side seems to have been polished also.

maybe it's due tro one side getting buffed slightly when they were sharpening and polishing the edge
