I was just wondering if anyone else has seen unusually shiny, older style snake skin slabs. I have had several variations of snake handles from Busse and have never seen this form of snake before. It seems to have a very high polish on it. So I am just curious if you folks can give any insight on this issue.. Thanks !

The Tanker A is the one with the unusually shiny snake slabs:
I used the SJ for comparison.

my tanker a looks shiney like yours but i cant tell for sure until you send me the sj to compare with :p:D

I know there were some blades that got a few extra coats of a "varnish" on them.

Had one Off Duty that was very high gloss.

Most likely, yours is one hat got an extra coat or five.... ;)

I have some with way better color than others but havn't seen one that shiney unless mineral oil was applied...then it will still dry out with time.

Sounds like Hammy knows though, it does look like a little extra coating applied. I don't have any Busse's with a coating on handle, I did'nt even know they applied a vanish on any

405dave: Oh it is:D, and thanks for helping me out!!

Ken44: There has been no oil or anything else applied to make this snake shine..
It appears to have a thick clear coat of ''varnish'' or something on it,
whatever it is, thats how it came from Busse
thats why I'm curious why it differs from any other snake I have seen..

Nice score Uncle-Jarvis!

I originally owned that #4, and when I received it I also received a tan/tan Tanker PE #3 and it has the same coating. It is some sort of coating that the shop was playing with, supposedly to enhance grip. Besides the Tankers, I have only seen one other model with it.

Very interesting Strabs!
Thanks for the insight on the glossy snake.
Oh yes, PM sent your way >>
