Shipping 100+ knives from Europe to USA

A friend of mine came across a huge lot of knives at an estate sale (TRC, Spyderco, Luzon, Benchmade,etc...) What would be the safest way to ship that many knives to the states? I've already checked and all the knives are legal in my state. Just wondering about customs and how that would go.

I also posted this in the knife laws forum but figured this would also be a good place to post just in case.

I’d probably ship them FedEx but contact them first to ask those questions and determine what documentation would be needed. They most likely would first land and go through customs somewhere like NYC or Miami so the laws there could be an issue.

If he's not much in a hurry, he could try one of the international moving companies...always spare room in a container for one more box. FedEx, DHL, UPS = $$$.
