Hi Everyone,

Im just getting back into collecting knives. Im looking to import an Andre De Villiers flipper knife from the US through blade hq as I cannot seem to find any canadian sites that sell AdV knives. I am aware that the knives im looking to import are not illegal however i have read some experiences that seem to show that the Canadian Border Services seized similar knives anyway. If there is anybody that has imported any folding knives to canada that could share their experiences it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd get in contact with CBS with all the info you can, and get a yes/no, then put all that info to the retailer to include in the package.

I have had no issues ordering from the US. I'd say two dozen in the last 2 years with no problem. The knife in question should be fine as long as you can't shake it open easily.

I've never had an issue. If you are worried, you can ask them to tighten the pivot screw a little. That way you eliminate any possibility that someone could open it by gravitational force alone. Ship it via USPS, never FedEx or UPS.

Thanks for the info everyone. And yes i have read the several distasteful interactions people have posted. I have also seen and heard of some positive as well. In the end I just love his overbuilt over the top designs and havent seen any other mid techs that compare. I have made contact with someone that handles his repairs and custom work in the US and he seems be a very reasonable guy. If anyone knows of any mid techs in the 350-550 dollar range with a similar character as his knives with a flipper please feel free to post them.
