Shipping emails

Am I the only one who finds it odd that when you order a knife from the Benchmade site, you get emails confirming your order and telling you every step of the manufacturing process for customs but don't get emails with the shipping number? I would be perfectly happy if I only got 2 emails after ordering a knife. One to confirm the initial order and once with a tracking number for the package. Any other opinions?

You will usually get tracking info from UPS.
Each time I dealt with them this is how it worked. Each time UPS sent the info.

This has been my experience as well.

Also, you can check the status on their site. Once it ships you can view the tracking number. I've gotten the tracking number a couple of times by checking the site before I got the UPS e-mail.

Then my experience is just weird. I've ordered 3 knives off their website and I didn't get a shipping email for the first or second and don't have one for the latest one I ordered. They all still say "order processing" on my account, even the ones that came in months ago

I've seen it happen both ways. Most recently I haven't received any shipping notifications.

I've never had a return shipping notification. Guess it depends on who you talk to up there. Then again I've never had an order gone missing. That's even better news.

That is odd then.

OP, I'd give them a call then and let them know whats going on. Might be a problem with the new system?

I'm going to be sending in a couple of knives this week so I'll see how that goes with the return.

I have an update. I just called Benchmade and they just finished my knife today and at my request, they sent me the tracking number. I should have it in hand tomorrow even though I didn't pay extra for next day shipping since I live about an hour away from their factory

It's always best to call. You get a real person and immediate response.

Man I wish I lived an hour away. I'm on the East Coast and usually have to watch my knife take the super slow route for a week before I get it. Can get tough some times...

The factory is located in Oregon City and I'm just north of Portland. That closeness means that ground shipping and next day shipping are pretty much the same. It also lets me order switchblades/automatic knives from them

Just a thought, sometimes my e-mail accounts either organize my incoming e-mail into folders I didn't want them to or they put it into the spam folder. You might check, as I know my g-mail account I had to check the "Social" and "Promotions" folder for some e-mails. I didn't even realize I had those folders since I started using g-mail.
