Probably neither. It isn't like the US Postal Service allows the Manhattan DA's office to inspect incoming packages. As a private individual, you would be under no surveillance.
I stoped just to be on the safe side. I sell mainly switchblades and that is why. are you just shipping a regular knife?? if so then you should be safe.
I don't think anyone gets in trouble. They aren't illegal in NYC. Collectibles are allowed as well as folders. You can carry as well as long as they aren't "gravity" knives.
Not a all! Or, perhaps I should say that whatever he his latest target of opportunity, he has not let up on knife owners. They are still prosecuting knife owners and threatening retailers, with many knife carriers arrested every week in Manhattan. We are still suing them in Federal Court.
Having said that, I am not aware of any issues whatsoever with individuals sending or receiving knives of any sort by mail or common carrier. Note that there are federal regulations regarding shipping knives via the U.S. Mail that should be abided by.
