Please don't ship knives in padded envelopes. They are very prone to damage and loss. I had one lost last week that was sent to me and one yesterday arrived hanging out of the envelope. Use a box and some sturdy tape but no envelopes. There is a good thread in the Good, Bad and Ugly section that goes into greater detail.

Have a Great Christmas Everyone,

VERY GOOD suggestion Eric! Not to bash anyone at all. I think lots of people just getting into this stuff sort of forget to think about what a package may go through in the shipping process.

What Eric mentioned has happened to me several times over the years.., and in two cases ended badly (no comment)!

The Priority mailer-boxes available FREE from the Postal folks are very good if a little care in packing is used in shipping a knife (i.e., some "peanuts"..., "bubble-packing", etc.).

Throwing a knife in some tissue, newspaper, or anything laying around the house and putting it in a mailing envelope of any sort is just asking to lose an article <or worse> :(

Nothing's worst then having the postman give you a dirty look because a knife has ripped through a padded envelope:(:D.

Just another note on shipping. Remember to tape the edges of the the shipping box, sometime's boxes will get crushed in transit, and small folders could slip through:(.

Just another reminder,

I dont want to lose any knives in shipment so no envelopes, please. Only use boxes.
