Shipping to Canada

I just ordered a 12 inch Sirupati from the online store and I was wondering what the average wait time is for Canadian customers. Also, when I did a search for "shipping Canada" I came across an older post saying that The cost of ordering would be greater for canucks in the future. However, the total given to me when I placed the order did not reflect that.

OT:

It's too bad I never got to do business with Mr. Martino though I'm not saying anything negative about HI's current operations. With the way people talk about him, for me to say he sounded like a good man probably wouldn't do him justice.

I look forward to recieving the khukri as it is going be a gift to my father and the first khukri I'm going to handle.

Siga Siga...

I think Dave Hahn lives in Canada, and mentions upon occasion that orders get to Australia before they get to him in Toronto, unless they arrive in a week.

I think it is a crap shoot depending on which station it goes through, and who is at work that day, and whether they are still brooding about the NHL.

Welcome, and good luck.

Yes, it really depends... I've had khuks come in in a week and others that took three or four weeks. It's a crap shoot, but it's always worth the wait.

Haven't gotten any letters from customs saying they're prohibited yet either and I've ordered a few. Have patience... Canada Customs isn't a breeze. :)

I found shipping to my home in New Brunswick to take about 3 weeks, but that was at Christmas time. Shipping cost about $10-15 more than what was quoted for US customers - but I found that to be entirely reasonable.

16 1/2 inch villager WWII - I could not be happier with my khukuri.

Tom.

Just remember that Customs does whatever they want. Barring that stipulation, you should be fine.

I ship to Canada all the time, and barring the occassional snafu, everything always gets there eventually.

It usually takes on avg, about 3-4 weeks for packages to get to me, depending where in the states it is from.

the frustrating thing? That I pay extra for express shipping, only to have customs hold onto it for only God knows why. the only way to avoid it is to go through a major carrier.

Since the Liberals are currently in power, the major carriers like UPS, FedEx, are able to exercise bribery to get the packages though. Thus the so called "brokerage fees" and other "customs taxes" that typically mark up the cost. Generally, Liberal bribery will cost about $30 - $45 plus 7% of the package's worth. Very expensive.

I thought it would've taken less time for stuff to get to the "master province".
 ;) :)

sorry Bruise, but it's gotta go through 2 level's of provincial and federal Liberal gov't here.
