Shipping warthog ivory (Tusk) to Canada

Good day, can anyone offer some advice on shipping a warthog tusk to Canada. I tried using usps online but there is a few sections i dont fully understand-especially the exemption codes or customs regulations. --Thank You-Marekz

I don/t believe that it is on the CITES list so there should be no problem.

The only thing that you can do to help things along would be to list the contents of the package as Hobby supplies- warthogg tusk.

Nothing upsets Customs more than improper informtion.

If the tusk is of US origin there will be no duties.

Don't list it as IVORY, however, so as not to confuse them...

I have used the word specimen a great deal when shipping to Canada such as warthog tusk specimen and use the latin name doesnt hurt either. In this case it would be Phacochoerus aethiopicus tusk specimen (warthog tusk).

I had a couple tusks mailed to me a couple yrs ago , no problem .
