After 33 years of service, Shirley Boser is retiring from Case Knives. To some, this will mean little, but to those who needed some help from Case, this will mean alot. Shirley is one of the old time employees at one of the most traditional knife companies there is. Those who delt with her, got to know old time personal service by somebody who really did care how the job was done.

Just thought I'd pass it on.

I read of this on another forum a couple months back.

All of us owe her a great debt of gratitude and I hope that Case will recognize her contributions in a big way (and that she will not be a stranger after retiring).

She is a tradition all by herself.

How can we send her a letter of our appriciation?

When I was a full line Case Dealer in my shop I dealt with Shirley a number of times and pleasant help was always forthcoming. They will have a tough time filling her shoes.

She truly is one of the nicest people to deal with, I wish I had half of her knowledge of Case knives.
I wish her well in her retirement and hope that Case understands the importance of finding a suitable replacement for her.... There is only one Shirley though.

. . They will have a tough time filling her shoes.

Does anyone of you all know who will be the new Case Historian?

No question she will be sorely missed! Its hard to imagine her not being there for me to call any longer.. I wish her all the very, very best..

She's the one who helped me get my Case two-blade Hunter re-bladed four years ago. She was one of the nicest people I've dealt with; she's one of the specific people I remember in all the years I've had dealings in knives.

Best wishes for her, wherever she lands...

thx - cpr

I never had the chance or reason to call Case and if I did then I would have liked to talk to Shirley.

When we were up for the Customer Appreciation Weekend, Shirley took our staff on a "historical tour" to all of the Case Family homes and the old Case Factories. We drove past the old Cattaraugus Cutlery Factory which I do have a pictures of below. There in Bradford, she showed us the Bank Street Case Factory and the Russell Blvd Factory. I have a couple of pictures of the Bank Street Factory, but I didn’t get one of the Russell Blvd. factory. We were lucky enough to go in and see the original floors and such of the Bank St. factory. It is currently a private residence, but the owner was nice enough to let us take a peek. When he saw Shirley out walking around the building with us, he asked if we wanted to come in and look around. Shirley is VERY knowledgeable, and will truly be missed. I learned more about Case just talking with Shirley than I had ever imagined. I hope that Shirley's replacement has the desire to learn all that they can from her while she is still in the office. Someone that truly enjoys their job and has an immeasurable amount of knowledge is very hard to "replace". I wish her the best in the future!!

Here are a few pictures of our tour....
