1st world problem here, but I want to purchase a Shiro F3 online and in doing my research I came upon a F3R. The only differences I can see are the pocket clip and a couple screws, as well as the steel options. The F3 is available in CTS-40CP or Elmax, while the F3R is available in Vanax 37. Are there other differences I can't see, and what do you think about the steel options? Thanks in advance!

The "R" is a renewed version with alot of features that were in Custom Division models.

MRBS bearings and interior milling are a few features you didn't see. Vanax37 seems to perform similar to m390.

I found it online at a shop I'm not familiar with. Seems legit, but the price seems almost too good.

All three steel options are really good, but I'd pick Vanax 37 personally if it were me. 40cp is the powderd steel version of 440c and it's edge retention is really really good in comparison to 440c,especially when heat treatment is optimal with cryo. Also nothing but good things about elmax. Excellent edge retention as well.

Vanax is great because instead of high carbon it's high in nitrogen, so it's very rust resistant. Also great in edge retention and toughness.

Great information, thank you for taking the time to explain. I purchased the F3R in Vanax with carbon/red handle.

Highly recommend recon1. Buy with confidence! Purchased my 95T during lunch on Tuesday and it was in my mailbox at lunch on Wednesday. California to North Carolina and free shipping. Can’t beat that

I’d love to get that kind of response time, but they’re all at Shot Show til next week so I’m going to have to wait a bit longer. Oh well, nothing good comes quickly. Except maybe the fast action on my new F3R!! See what I did there?
