As a bit of a prelude, I haven't made many threads before, and I apologize if this is the wrong place, so just tell me and I'll move it right away.

So, I'm very excited for a knife I just bought off of ebay. It's a Shirogorov 95 from the land up north (Canada), and here are the pictures:

I'm also a bit nervous about its authenticity because of the price. I talked with the man who sold it to me, and he seemed like quite the knife collector. He said he sold this to fund another knife purchase. Looking at his history, he's sold few items, and they were all high-end midtech knives, such a field-grade Bodega. BUT, he would not offer any returns on the knife. Now, is anyone here able to tell if anything about the knife looks off? It looks quite different compared to lower-end fakes, but I'm not sure how well any pricier fakes would mimic the real deal.
Any help would be appreciated.

Its hard to tell from the bay link pics. Some detailed pictures would certainly help. The dude seems legit though. Most people that sell conterfeits have very little feedback because as soon as they get caught they open another profile.

That is not a custom, it is indeed a production Shiro. It also looks legit based on those inadequate pictures. It also sold for the average going price as of late. That use to be a $900 knife, it still is at some outlets. I'll shoot some pics of mine for you to compare to, as I possess that exact model knife.

Just out of curiosity did it come with the cloth and COA?

I picked mine up from a friend who misplaced the cloth. Not a deal breaker for me as I know the history of my knife from the original Russian seller. The paper is not a COA, it is just Russian paperwork for customs.

I received this "clone" as a gift and was honestly surprised at how well it was made. Now I really want to check out an authentic Shirogorov.

Thanks for the info, guys! I got the knife today, and it's definitely authentic. I absolutely love the flipping action! It's smooth as can be, and it's built like a tank. It's just got a little bit of lockstick that I'm sure will go away.

Get a Q tip and clean the tang. When new they'll get a little of the bearing grease on the tang and that will cause that stick. Mine did the same thing when it was new. Eventually it stops doing that and you'll have no more stick.

Thanks a lot man! I tried doing that and adding a bit of graphite on the tang, and after opening and closing it a few times you can't even feel it disengage. The pivot grease does migrate to the lockbar a lot, like you said, so I'll be cleaning it for a while.

Beatiful Hati! Oh, and do the lockfaces seem to wear in over time or is the steel lockup pretty stationary?
