I'm having a problem getting the pivot loose. It just spins and I don't want to damage this knife. I've tried loading the blade horizontally and vertically. "Some" heat to the bolt. ??? Thanks for any insight. Walter

don't know what that one looks like but I do expect some type of thread locker would have been used. Heat could do it.
Frank.

Walter, I'll pm you with my phone number to walk you through. Basically you have to find some way to get tension on the face of the smooth side it the pivot itself.

There's likely a bit of thread locking compound on the threads. Hold a hair dryer on it for a minute and try again. You'll to put some pressure on the back side to keep it from spinning as well, but chances are that'll do the trick.

Thank you, I'll give heat a try.

Is it the old pivot with the set screw or the new one? there are some that need their tool, you can get them for $35 or make it. When I fixed a buddy of mines, I used carpenter's double sided tape on the flat side and that held it enough to get it loose.

Sorry it took me this long to get back to you. I guess it was the new one, didn't see asset screw. I heated the "nut" and got to turn loose. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. Here's a pic.
