Hello,

I just got a three bears F95 nudist on MRBS. The opening action is perfect but it is not even close to drop shut. My less expensive Neon completely outperforms it in that regard. It appears as though the lock bar is putting too much pressure on the blade. If I completely disengage the lockbar and pull it out of the way of the blade it will drop shut.

Has anybody experienced anything similar? If so were you able to fix it? I'm afraid that if I try to adjust the tension I will ruin the opening detent strength.

If this is the wrong place for this topic please point me in the right direction.

I've got two F3R's, one is like you're describing, the other free falls to the point that for me, I have to pay attention if I don't want to get bit and I really don't care for a blade that closes that easily. You can always take it apart, clean it, new lube and that should give you the action you're looking for. I'd do that before trying to adjust the detent.
 
Drop a bit of oil onto your detent ball, you'd be surprised how much of a difference it can make.
