Looking to get my first super high-end production knife and I've narrowed it down to these two knife makers. I like to looks of the Shirogorov more but the
Koenig's are a bit more affordable. Also if I ever need warranty work done having to send the knife a couple of state's away vs half way around the world is also a bit more appealing. Kind torn on this one so I was just wanting to see if anybody has both and could lend a little bit of advise?

What will you be cutting. Choose the blade geometry more useful to you.

Personally I'd go Shiro.

The Koenig Arius looks VERY nice. I had a Shiro F3R and it was nice as well. I just couldn't see the 1k price tag in any of the knife... I sold it.

If the choice is only between those two, Koenig all the way. All of the same features(lightening pockets, bearings, excellent flipping and closing action, machining quality, etc.) that are present on Shiro’s are also done just as well on the Koenig at nearly half the cost. Shiros are fantastic, just more pricey and difficult to get warranty work done if needed.

I hope you weren't looking for a consensus of opinion:D

Shiro has more to choose from and are pretty easy to sell when you (almost inevitably) choose to. If you like the Arius form factor though, it's a heckuva knife.

Lol....no I figured it would be a 50/50 split with some extra's thrown in. I pretty much agree with everybody....the question is, is the knife I really (Shirogorov) want worth spending an extra $200-$400 on? The Koenig's can get really expensive as well to depending on the style and options. Good thing is I'm not in a hurry to buy....so keep those opinions coming guys.

The Koenig is not half the price. If you match steels and blade length, the Shiro can be $100 to $200 more than the Arius.

If price is the issue, go with a ZT flipper. You'll get great quality at a much lower price.

You might also keep an eye on the sales forum. Shiros are selling for much less than retail. I bought mine at retail -- a large 111 with M390 steel, a fuller, carbon fiber handles and dual rows of bearings. It's an awesome knife. I can't find a flaw. It closes on its own weight and flies open when flipped. I bought it planning to sell it at a small loss, just for a chance to check out all the hype. But I had to change those plans when I saw the prices of resale Shiros drop.

I have no idea how good a knife the Koenig is. The Arius looks nice, but nothing that I've heard justifies that price.

Koenig for sure. Quality is equivalent or better, price is lower, and you get to support a great small business who will take care of anything you need. Koenig definitely gets my vote, and I have owned both. The Shiro is long gone, but the Arius isn't going anywhere.

Shiro  but I am a fan boy:D
If you buy from Recon 1 or have their COA card with the knife you dont have to ship back to Russia just SoCal.
There are also a lot of custom knives on the secondary market in that price range that are really good.
Been wanting a Koenig but I've got enough high end production pieces, I think:eek:
Good luck regardless.
Cheers

Shiro F3 vs Koenig - I lean to Koenig
Shiro F95 or Hati vs Koenig - I slightly lean to Shiro but could go the other way based on configuration.

How about Olamic? They have the Wayfarer, the Compact, the 24/7 and the Swish that might fit the bill. They're highly customizable too.

I already have an Olamic Wayfarer 247 and two Chris Reeve's (Sebenza 21 unique pattern and Blue Steam To-Lock) and I love all three of them. I just considered these (Shiro and Koenig) the top for production knife world. But again I've never owner either one of them so I may be wrong too.

I've had my eye on an Arius CF, such a great looking knife. I have a Shiro Hati R and it does not disappoint, price is steep but it is the nicest, most well made and by far the smoothest knife i've had. I would love to try out an Arius though, they seem great.

Well I traded for a 95T yesterday.....should be in Monday. I'll let you guys know what I think.

Hope you love it! I am sure it will be an amazing knife. Maybe a Koenig for the next knife?

Great to see Koenig being talked about more and more. I have been blown away by mine. Plus Bill is a really great guy!
