I got my first ever package straight fro Busse today! Inside were a Shiva Rex and a Competition finish Satin Jack.

The Shiva rex is the only blade I have with any serrations, and I have no idea how to sharpen the sucker. It cuts rope, cardboard, et c. just fine, but it will need sharpening sometime, I'm sure. I figure I'll use a chisel guide to sharpen he tip, but am not sure what do do about the serrations.

I, too, wat to stab a door. We'll see:)

I'll get some pictures of the SAJAC after a bit.

Both it and the jackhammer have plain handles. Will the custom shop put magnum handles on them? Will they sell us handle blanks so we can do that ourselves?

I always use my Dads spyderco sharpener for serrations. I would bet you could send them to Busse for some Mag slabs, but I think this issue has been addressed before and someone who knows more will probably be by soon.

There's 3 schools of thought on sharpening serrations. 1, send it back to the factory for sharpening. 2, sharpen with triangular stones in the scallops, like with a sharpmaker. 3, and my current favorite, sharpen the side opposite the scallops. This needs to be done at a very low angle, and works best with a guide system like an edgepro, IMO. This has given me the best edge on resharpened serrated blades. Trying #2 just never got satisfactory results, and also looked terrible.

The CE JH already has mags. I bet the CE SJT does too. Mags on a TAC handle don't have the pronounced swells.

Ohhhh. ok. I really like those swells, they fill my hand up just right.

Lycosa, I think it is way too late for therapy:) I've kept a few of the knives I bought, but mostly I turned everything into Busse. I still have a few customs, but the Busse knife has some great properties that I really lke.

I'm already looking forward to the next release adter the nmffbm. I also started a Blade 2009 savings fund, and hope to get there and meet some folks in 2009.

And I was wondering, we've got the SaJac playing an importnt part in the Busse lineup. Don't we need a Vanna White? Can I buy a vowel?

+1

Spyderco Sharpmaker for serrations and non serrations...works like a charm and easy to use (at least for me)

I use one of these DMT triangular sharpeners, it has three different sized angles for different sized scalops and then I use my Edge Pro on the other side. Works great, though they never look "like new" again.
