Shoe Goo or.....?

Well, I just noticed that the Altama combat boots I've had since '96 or so are finally coming apart at the toe. I'm convinced I can get a few more miles out of them if I can glue the soles back on to the upper at the toe. Just curious if anybody has recommendations for an adhesive. Does shoe goo actually work? Is it better than barge cement? Is there something else I should look for?

I haven't tried it on a shoe, but Gorilla Glue is solid stuff. You'll want to keep a damp cloth on hand to clean up the foam that expands off of it as it starts to cure.

Both Shoe Goo and Barge are great. Barge may be better if the joining is leather to leather. If you use Shoe Goo, be prepared to leave the boots out on the back porch for a couple of days until the solvent evaporatesd out.

I used to skateboard alot and the Grip tape tears up shoes really quick. Shoe Goo is a life saver for the skater that doesnt want to go out and spend 80 on skateshoes just to get them tore up again. The stuff works great.
