I can purchase a leather for shoe soles which is pretty stiff, and grain side is sanded, so I would like to know is it usable for sheats or is it maybe somehow chemically treated? Is it possible to restore shine on grain side after sanding? In the shop they say they had some wax for that, which can restore shine, so please help.I wouldnt mind if it looks like rough out, but not shure about it all.

Shoe bends, or pre cut soles are WAY too stiff and thick for normal sheath work. What they are ideal for is shoe soles.......imagine that!

If you hand stitch they are the very last thing you want to work with. In addition they absolutely will not bend for a pouch sheath and will not, repeat not wet form at all. It is impossible to restore the original luster to the grain side no matter what you try. so, in summation, they are absolutely not suited for normal sheath work.
