Hello all,

I stumbled across this side of the forums (normally on the Balisong board) in search of peoples opinions of Fisher pens and thought I would pose a question.

Question:

What is the most comfortable shoes, not really worried about looks but it helps I suppose.

Two of the brands that I like that are comfortable are Ecco and Clarks. The Ecco brand is more expensive, but also more comfortable. I believe the Clarks brand originated in the U.K., and they are a well made, comfortable shoe that look good too. Another popular, comfortable shoe is Dr. Martens. But, I think they are making some of their shoes in Taiwan and some in the U.K. Buy the ones that are made in the U.K.

I bought some ECCO's from a closeout shoe store $45 a pair. They are very comfortable, and wear like iron. The cushion insoles need replacement now and then. Kinda clunky looking and heavy.

I bought a pair of sperry boat shoes, again on closeout a few years ago, I just started wearing them regularly this year. Comfortable, light and more sturdy than I would have thought. I did put in an aftermarket insoles though, not much padding in the original.

Are you talking casual shoes?

If so, I highly recommend the Cole-Haan collaboration with Nike (has Nike Air soles), which have become my favorites. A bit expensive but the quality is top-notch.

I also recommend Timberland - I've had a pair of their walking shoes for several years and they see a lot of wear. Certainly the lightest pair of shoes I own.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm now working at a place that is 'business casual' and I've been able to slip by with my leather hiking boots that are in nice shape. However, I'd like to go with something dressier, yet comfortable since I am often standing. NO penny loafers or anything of the sort. Nothing dressy. I suspect I'm asking for the same advice as the OP, which is why I'm posting.

As for Clarks, my local mall had a 'sidewalk' sale recently and I saw them out there. I was just killing time and asked the clerk what he thought of them. He said that they were excellent shoes and that he had been wearing them long before he started working there. They DID look nice and if they get BF G&G approval, I might have to take a closer look.

Ecco by far. I have Timberlands, Rockports, Florsheim, etc, but the Ecco's are the most comfortable by far. They wear very nicely too. I wore out my Timberland casual shoes in a very short time (although my Tim 6" boots have been to hell and back and they still rock!)

They would have to be comfortable and yet hold up quite well in outdoors, such for hiking and whatnot. I'm looking for shoes that could double as work shoes (office job), but still hold up really well on hikes or for camping.

I'm a die hard boot wearer. I don't even own a pair of casual shoes. When I need to dress up to casual, I wear Justin cowboy boots. Most of the time I wear Justin original wookboots. Justin also makes shoes of the type you are talking about. Sheplers is a good source for these. www.sheplers.com They are very comfortable and still made in the US. They are not overly pricy either.
