Beginning in late September '02, the American Tomahawk Company began to receive inquiries and complaints from dealers and retail customers about the Tomahawks in Shomertec's latest catalog.

In an attempt to clarify the evident confusion, we offer the following statement.

Shomertec is not selling ATC's Tomahawks. The Tomahawks offered in their 2003 catalog, while nearly identical in appearance and in one case, nearly identical in name or trademark, are not made by ATC.

If you have issued a purchase or were planning a purchase on the basis that ATC made the product and it was available at a lower price at Shomertec, please know in advance that it is not an ATC product.

ATC takes great pride in the originality of its designs, products, quality construction, and reputation in the industry.

ATC will not sit idle while its designs and marks are diluted by copies and reproductions, and will take a strong position to defend is name, products, reputation, and intellectual property against any company or companies that intentionally or unintentionally degrade them.

I have communicated with the principal at Shomertec regarding this issue and anticipate his willingness to help resolve this confusion in the near to immediate future.

Thanks Cyblade!!!!! I forgot completely about those a**holes!!! :barf: :barf:

Sorry about that!!!!;)

Quotes form the Hayes page.

"...proudly presents the Original Next Generation Ambassador Spike"

"Don't settle for copies of questionable quality"

"Get your Next Generation Spike direct from the designer and craftsman that brought them to the market"

If these ****ers weren't a potential damage to your business their UTTER **** might almost be funny... almost
As it is......

Unfortunately, no, and it is disappointing to me, as all of this could have been avoided with responsible and proper representation of the product in their catalog and website.

Is this the same Hays (Wally I think) that collaborated with you guys on the Hays Hawk? Or was there no collaboration and I've been duped? www.knifecenter.com lists a Hays Hawk on the same page with the ATC hawks is there any connection?

Thanks,

GregB

It would be nice if you guys offered a hammer poll hawk with a 14" to 16" synthetic handle for the campers and backpackers among us (see Hay's Minnesota Hawk)

Hays is not Wally Hayes. Two different spellings, two different countries.

KnifeCenter.com has a page dedicated to the Hays G-41.

The Hayes Hawk is a custom collaboration with ATC.

We are planning a Hammer Poll product for 2003. Stay tuned.
