Shop 2 Gelbu Special kamis take a gamble -- and win!

I called Nepal last night and got some interesting information. Here is part of it.

When the kamis who collaborated on the making of the Gelbu Special finished this khukuri they took it to Gelbu and told him they wanted to make six more. Their reasoning:

When that American Bena shows this khukuri to his customers they will want at least six more. He may end up selling one hundred so we better make six more right now and be ready for him. Gelbu agreed with them.

Last night when I told Gelbu to make six more Gelbu Specials he said, "They are finished and I will ship them next week," and then told me the story.

The kamis have outfoxed me once again.

Without bothering to check I know that 3 or 4 are gone already. So, anybody interested in this unique khukuri call or email. There are a couple or three available -- or will be as soon as they arrive here.

That is good news and a great story about
the "Gelbu Specials"! I think it's great that
the kamis feel that their work is so good that they know that any that they make ahead of time will find a home somewhere over here.
I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of the
"Gelbu's", more so now that I know that it is
a matter of weeks rather than months before

The price of the knife in question is $125
American. If you search the back topics on
this forum for the "Gelbu Special #1" thread,
you will see a posted picture of the knife
under discussion. Hope things are going well

Pakcik Bill - I'm stuck with your 45 days waiting period (for the shipment status of Silver Mounted Dhankuta + Chainpuri)! I think Gelbu Special is a great knife!

Here in Croatia I can get only CS LTC or GLK khukri style knives. So I am interrested in getting HI or Ghurka House khukris. I wish to test it in our woods.
Hope will find way to bring genuine khukri here.
