I hope that this can remain in the Custom section.

I'd like to see your shop dogs. Whether it's an old pup that has a cot in the corner and lazily watches you while you work, or a pup that is smart enough to stay away from the grinder and forge, but might lift a tool here and there to investigate.

I always had much pleasure reading about Ed Fowlers dogs in Blade magazine, seeing pictures of them resting on his old couch (I love labs, have two myself).

Shop pics preferred, but if you just have a pic of your canine buddy that "works your security detail in the shop" please share.

Perhaps not what you are expecting, But:

I have none, in the shop that is, my home is my shop so to say and much work done within. My little rascal works remarkably as a guest at any unusual noise during the day or in the evening. Don't go by the picture, he would scare you off your seat in the evening with his bark when you can't see him, less the Growl. He almost sound threatening, however not as much so as myself getting up and grabbing a fully loaded 40 cal within seconds day or night he knows what is unusual after 12 years. Hope it it ever doesn't come to this....... But Someone will have a bad day if they consider unauthorized presence in the home or work place.

Dogs truly are a man's best friend and much much more as you already know........ (-: Hope not to spoil your thread but small dogs can work the same for us at the same time as being lap dogs, Not to say to say larger breads are not the same I know better. (-:

I've had a quite a few different breed of dogs over the years but my labs have always been my favorite. We recently lost Bruce, an 11 year old black lab, to cancer. That was a tough one for me and the family. He was a rescue dog and he immediately decided I was his. He never left my side whether I was in the house or out in the shop and was always there for me.

Now my shop dog is Zoey, a small chocolate lab that is completely blind.

Here she is sitting on one of my old saws when we first got her.

Even though she is blind I have never had a dog that was so full of energy. She will play fetch all day if ya let her.
Having a dog that can't see can be a little bit of a challenge but I wouldn't trade her for the world.

Here she is 8 years later

Bunch of great looking family members posted.

She's the best dog I've ever had.

Well not quiet but there is some relation to the Rhodesian Ridgeback. These were bred for farm and personal protection. Here is a video I was interview for about me and my dogs.

They certainly are beautiful dogs

I had my Dogos for years

I had other older dogs when I decided on this breed. The Dogo is a great animal but would not have fit well into our life. The Boerboel is a very diverse breed and can easily be integrated into an existing pack.
