depending on how far hes gonna travel, the city itself is fairly limited in terms of designated cutlery shops, such things sadly do not exist any more in the city. However if he makes his way to Paragon sports by Union Square, right off the 6, and yellow subway lines, he might see something neat. there are also a few hiking shops/sporting goods stores near the wall street area that may have something as well.

If your son can travel, there is a Bass Pro in Bridgeport CT and Atlantic City NJ, and Bass Pro usually carries a large selection. But those are a good distance, Bridgeport is over 50 miles, Atlantic City is farther.
 
Put a post up in the WTB section of the knife exchange. Explain your situation like you did here and state the Case knives you are seeking. Request NYC Area Only members willing to meet at or near where you son is lodging. There are so many great members on this forum ... you just never know how many may respond to help a fellow member. If I were near NYC I would hook you up but I am about an 8-hour drive from NYC.

ONLY if he also gets a month's worth of PRIME, ($17 now?) and the delivery window works for him.
Unless the seller has free shipping. Most sellers ship in 2 or 3 days.

No PRIME + "Free Shipping for Orders $35 and Over" = Not shipped for a 7 to 10 days after the order is made. 🤬
 
Do they even allow pocket knives in NYC? I am not being sarcastic, NYC is a pretty restrictive place.
 
I was there a few years ago and remember a Victorinox store at Rockefeller center, but that was the only knives I saw up there.
 
Wish I saw this earlier...... How'd he make out.......NYSHITTY has been pretty terrible for close to a decade plus now........ Crooks are getting arrested 2-3 times daily and are still home before the cops doing the paper work😥..........Cant say I'm proud to from the city but my area is relatively unscathed........... Next time low in General discussion too please🙏........ I'd have .met up with him.....👍

Hello , thanks everybody for your answers.
I gave up asking him to bring me some Case knives. It seems uneasy and for a few € I can order it to Deadwood knives so I preferred to let him enjoy his trip.

I was in NYC one day when I was ten.
Last I heard NYC allowed pocket knives that couldn't be opened with one hand. (If you can open it with one hand it's the same as a switchblade, which is illegal.)
Too bad people in charge have never worked enough to know that sometimes one hand is full when you need to use a tool.
