Wow Brian looks like you made good use of the space. What are the dimensions,I have to build something soon whether its a shop or a barn or whatever the law allows.

Brian--This is really great--I am sure that most all of the the readers are simply "green". Your new "digs" look really nice. I hope someday before I do a "croaker" to be able to move far away from Houston, TX--Heck, who knows, may even migrate back to Georgia where the family came to in the early 1700's--I know of NO sane person that WANTS to live in Houston, TX--Good luck--BTW got new grinder and 18" oven on the way--maybe a respecable blade will soon follow. In the last photo, gotta love the look on your wife's (?) face !!!
ROFLMAO !

I've seen a similar one a few times meself :)

He HE ...
NO AC YEt but since its insulated it only got up to 89 degrees this week. My last shop had 2 ac's and no insulation and after the ac ran all day it only got to 90!

Today I started a 12 steak knife set. Got 1/2 rough cut and no more bandsaw blades!! POP!

Brian, did you see the shop planner on grizzlys website? It's kind of late now but it could help make sense of things.I have mine all mapped out now i need to run it by the town hall.I'm sure they will want lots of $$$ for permits and variances and environmental impact studies and surveys :(

That looks pretty nice so far, but it looks to me like you have a lot of yard still available. I think I'd ace that tree in the first picture and build a shop you can move around in!
Good luck!

Man I need my tree :D
I used the shop planner last time but this time I used what didnt sem to work so well in my other building. I built a wall that 1/2's the grinder area to keep SOME dust at bay  Should make things a tad tidier,

Ye gads! I can see the bench tops! And there are area's of floor that arn't cluttered and you can walk without tripping! What kind of knifemaker are you?!:D Give it time, it'll look like mine.

Good looking set-up, and I agree, leave the tree, shade is very nice in the summer.

can anyone give me advie about how to NOT leave things cluttering the work areas!..........I have a tendancey to lay anything in a clear spot on the work area:D

Using expereince as a guide to building the new shop is a sound approach.
I am just finishing up on my third remodel. I have come to the conclusion that,
the shop, has to be made for the individual using it. We are all different.
Good looking shop. Enjoy, Fred

I cant help ya there, any flat surface in my garage has something on it.I just cleaned up good last month and i'm tripping over stuff already.;) Those yard sales are gonna be my downfall.

Nice job Bro!!! Bro you hang around Higgy???  It's to clean and no beer cans hanging around. :D

it will get durty trust me!!! I worked for the first timne this wekend WaHOO!!

I have a portable dust collector.....I always wear a repirator and clean up periodicly. I am hoping the devidor wall I built will minimise the dust that "Walks" around that side of the room :)

Hey, Brian! Nice job there, my friend! Talking about throwing things on the "flat spots"---where else would you throw them that they would not fall off ? All flat spots are made for just that reason! You've seen my shop, and ALL the flat spots are covered---including the floor! ---Sandy---

Congrats on the new shop B.

I'm not sure I'm farmilliar with what flat spots are, it seems like I had some about 10 years ago, but I don't really recall.... :)
