Hello everyone,

If anyone's curious as to what king of machinery I use to make my handles, I've added a page of shop photos and explanations to my web site. Go to www.maierblades.com and click on My Shop. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me. I love to talk about metalworking.

Have a great and safe New Year,

Mer

Fun to see the actual shop and tools of the trade!
I'm still a little skeptical. Where's a picture of Mer *using* these tools?

j/k.

Hope your new year's is a blast.

Very very, nice.... My turn to be jealous with the toys.

Mer, I take it your 60's vintage Delta has CNC capabilities? So, when's that unit coming? Or are you using someone else's mill for that part of the job?

Gotta move out of NYC. No way I can pull that off in my garage.

Excellent, clear pictures and nice explainations too. It looks like you've got quite a shop.

Is that steel stock in the vise for my handles?:)

What a very clean and modern shop you have there!

I't nice to see where all those mega-sweet knife handles come from.

Do you have different tools for working with wood?

Keep us updated with new pictures as they come out. I was getting kinda bored  looking at the same 4 knife handles.
Maybe you should put up a price page with option prices...?

Thanks everyone for the compliments. No CNC on that mill, just a power feed and hopefully very soon a digital read out. I'm using a friends CNC for that work. Yes blade_420, that is the beginnings of your handles. My woodworking equipment is pretty much a mitre box, a 1 x 30 belt sander and a sanding block. Woodworking is not really my specialty. I'll try to get some action shots and post them so you can see some chips flying. Maybe you'll catch me in a shot also :D

Take Care,

Mer

Great pictures with great comments to acompany them! Masse gives the Mer Shop two enthusiastic thumbs up!! You're lookin' good man:)

Great! Thanks for the pictures and even more so for the commentary as I would never know what happens at any of the machines. Very interesting stuff!
